Dr. Andrew Kitua has been appointed as the Regional Director of the Preparedness and Response project (P&R), which is part of the USAID Emerging Pandemic Threat (EPT2) Programme, for East and Central Africa. Dr Kitua is a highly respected medical specialist, having been a Senior Adviser and Leader Malaria Research programme at WHO-TDR, the Director-General of the Tanzania National Institute for Medical Research for 11 years, the Director of the Ifakara Health Institute and First Director of the Epidemiology and Research Division, Ministry of Health, Seychelles.
