SACIDS Foundation for One Health (SACIDS) took part in the exhibition to commemorate the Late Hon. Edward Moringe Sokoine, a patron of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) during Sokoine memorial week held at the Edward Moringe campus from 24th – 27th May 2021.
The event was graced by Hon. Mashimba Ndaki Minister for Livestock and Fisheries as the Guest of Honor and a number of dignitaries and visitors Morogoro Regional Commissioner Hon. Martine Shigela.

SACIDS Foundation had an opportunity to showcase its scientific work and projects in promoting One Heath Research and Training. The Foundation’s innovations include AfyaData; tool set, a mobile and web application used for the community-based detection of infectious disease surveillance. The deployment of the Mobile Genomics Laboratory for real-time genomics of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance.

SACIDS Foundation had a successful event participation which resulted into interviews during the exhibition, Photographs, local media coverage on SUA Media evening news and program from 24th to 27th May 2021.
The University organised the 2nd SUA Scientific Conference from 25th May 2021 with the objective of showcasing the University’s contribution in Transforming Agriculture and Natural Resources for Sustainable Development in the Country.
This year’s theme for the Exhibitions was “Agricultural Technologies, Productivity and Market Competitiveness in Tanzania:Towards an Upper-Middle-Income Country”.
The Vice President of United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango officiated the closing ceremony of a commemoration week of the Exhibitions organised by Sokoine University of Agriculture.
